Delivery of a 3 day Leadership Program at the Ted Rogers School of Management on January 9-11, 2024. A brief description of each session follows: Speed Reading as a Leader The workshop introduces the participant to the Lumina Spark model by exploring their personalized portraits in a series of individual, paired and group experiential exercises. Participants learn how to appreciate the interaction of personalities within the context of 4personality archetypes, 8 personality aspects, and 24 personality traits and their overextensions. Developing the Strategic Leadership Mindset Learn how to think and act like a strategic leader. This session focuses on establishing an in-depth understanding of strategic leadership, emphasizing key behaviours and attitudes. Mindful Leadership Mindfulness practices have been attracting attention by a variety of audiences from executives, educators, athletes, and even the US military as optimal performance requires individuals to be attuned to their needs and the needs of others. Mindfulness offers leaders a tool kit that enables them to develop the internal resources that enable them to be more effective and extend more compassion while guiding others. Overcoming Resistance to Change & Innovation Experience first-hand how you can help make change happen. By securing an understanding of change theory, you learn how to deal with resistance through practical change management techniques. Working with an Innovation simulation for a practical understanding of future ideation. Dealing with Conflict Think about a time you had conflict with a friend, family member or work colleague. This session will explore the various sources of conflict along with the most common styles to manage conflict. Plus, an interactive survey for participants to complete. Leading for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion The session will foster a deeper understanding of the issues of equity, diversity and inclusion and the impact, influence of inclusive leaders to create a culture and climate that is inclusive, brave, equitable, and transformative. Becoming a Champion for EDI and Anti-Oppressive Practices Inclusion, equity, and diversity bring with them many intersecting challenges, uncertainty, and grey areas. Each term adds a different and unique dimension to understanding the relations of power at work. How do we get to be an active participant in the philosophy and practice of equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace? Risk Management & Financial Acumen for Management This interactive seminar is designed to prepare non-profit organization managers, particularly those with limited prior knowledge in the field, with essential skills in risk management and finance. Participants will gain a working knowledge of the concepts, practices and tools associated with budgeting, financial reporting, financial oversight, resource management, financial planning, tax issues, performance measurement, and risk management. The course will provide an opportunity to apply these concepts and business tools to real-word scenarios.
